Thursday Trends: Scout Bags

Today I'm sharing my love for this brand!

A few years ago, I was introduced to Scout bags. Scout bags are totes, sports bags, storage bins, coolers, travel accessories in bright, fun colors. They are made up of a soft, easy-to-clean, water-resistant material that can take you from the pool or beach, to a casual dinner. I have a trunk storage bin the back of my car, a small accessory holder in my purse, a cooler that I use constantly, and a large pink tote that I use for weekend trips, plus so many more! Every time I am carrying or using my Scout bags, I get tons of compliments and "where did you get that" questions from complete strangers. These bags are perfect for summer and spring and now that I have used them, I cannot live without!

On their website, they show all of their sizes and prints! Plus, their new Summer 2015 line is to die for.  Check out their webpage & Instagram today & order one of these gorgeous bags... I promise you will not regret!

Thursday Trends: Bikinis

Spring break is finally here. I've been counting down the days, while dressed head to toe in warm clothes this winter. I have been searching online for the cutest bikinis for summertime and wanted to share all of my finds with y'all! Usually, I prefer a classic J.Crew solid colored bikini, but I'm trying to venture out into the vast world of patterns for this spring & summer. No matter your budget, you can absolutely find a gorgeous bikini in a price range that you are comfortable with. I hope this helps you find the perfect bikini!

Follow the links to find these suits + so many more! Disclaimer: I'm obsessing over Marra Hoffman swimsuits this season... That's why I included her twice.

Trying on bikinis is horrifying. No matter your size, it is just not comfortable to try bikinis on in a cold dressing room with poor lighting. Here are some of my tips on how be comfortable when trying on sizes!

1. Go by yourself, or with someone you truly trust & feel comfortable with. ( I usually go with my Mom) Make sure the person you go with is not judgmental and understands you may or may not have spent the entire winter watching Netflix & eating ice cream.

2. Eat light the night before & day of. I'm not saying starve yourself and just eat lettuce, but don't go an eat Five Guys 30 minutes before you are trying suits on. But this should be common sense...

3. Try on a few different swimsuit brands and record your size. That way, you can do ordering and future buying through the internet! I have a grip of my sizes and now I do all bathing suit ordering online!

Where are your favorite places to shop for bikinis? Comment below & let me know so I can check it out!

My Favorite Winter Soup

I'm the first one to admit that prior to college, I couldn't even make Mac-N-Cheese. But, I have grown to enjoy time spent in the kitchen and have mastered a few favorite dishes. Today, I'm sharing one of those recipes! My winter-kale-filled-soup.... Creative name... Am I right?

Ingredients:
Chicken Broth
Kale
Carrots
Sweet Onion
2 Cans of Chick Peas
2 Cans of Hunts Diced Tomatoes
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper

Instructions:
In a large pan over the stove, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil on low-medium heat. Then, add 2 1/2 cups of chicken broth, 2 cans of diced tomatoes undrained, & 2 cans of chick peas drained. While that is cooking, dice carrots into pieces and cut half of onion into slices & add to mix. Wash kale thoroughly and remove from stalk. Mix in kale slowly. Cover bowl & let simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes. Mix in salt & pepper to taste & viola!

I make this during the beginning of the week & it usually last me 2-4 days.
This is a quick, easy, cheap & semi-healthy meal for the cold winter days!

Thursday Trends: Tank Tops

.... But the cute tank tops... not the trashy kind ;)

Hours of scrolling through my Pinterest, I have noticed a big trend for spring/summer 2015 & that is tank tops! Some of my very favorite brands are adding them to their spring collections and I am loving it. You can dress these tank tops up with a cute skirt or colored jeans and wear them to date night, or use them as a cover up for the hot days at the beach.

Also-- I've linked one of my favorite "Tank Top Arms" workout for everyone! You can check out my Pinterest fitness board for tons of great arm workouts just in time for the spring & summer months.

Makeup Can't-Live-Withouts

Tinted moisturizer: link | ProLong wear concealer: link | Tarte conturing stick: link | Nars highlighting powder: link | Mascara: link | Beauty Blender: link | Naked pallet: link | Urban Decay setting spray: link

Makeup junky, I am. I usually stick to my absolute favorites though & that is what I'm going to be sharing with you today! These are the 7 items I cannot live without.

1. Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer. I've tried it all. This stuff is it. It offers good coverage and a great base if you are going to add in highlighting & conturing. I wear shade extra light tint.

2. Mac Pro Long Wear Concealer. Personally, I love an over-concealed eye. Bright eyes is definitely part of the highlighting trend but I also think it makes your face look more alive. This concealor is the only one you should be buying and I say that with confidence. It last all day and you just need a little bit! I wear shade NC 15 in winter & NC 20 in summer.

3. Tarte Conturing Stick. I've fallen victim to the conturing trend. I try not to go overboard, but it's so fun! This conturing stick is great for beginners. They also sell a great contouring buffing brush.

4. Nars Highlighting Powder. If you are going to have your picture made, this highlighting powder is your best friend. It adds a great summer glow to your face! I've heard this powder can be hard to find, but they do sell it at Bloomingdales in Buckhead. I use shade Albatross.

5. Better Than Sex Mascara. Okay... I did not come up with the name... but I do use & love the mascara. It's a little pricy, but you get out what you pay for.

6.  Naked Eye Shadow. I have all 3 pallets and use them daily. If you do not have this eye shadow, you're missing out!

7. Urban Decay Setting Spray. Setting spray may seem pointless to some, but if you need your makeup to last for more than 3 hours, it is essential. I use "All Nighter".

8. Beauty Blender. I should have put this one first. BEST. THING. I. HAVE. EVER. BOUGHT. It blends my contour, highlight, concealer, and foundation flawlessly. I need to stock up on these things just in case they discontinue.
