Thursday Trends: Etsy Favorites

I get it. I'm about 3 hours late to the Etsy bandwagon party. But, I still need to express my obsession & appreciation for this small business website!

First things first: I'm an Etsy snob. I have about 1 million favorite stores and items on this site so picking my top 5 favorites was not an easy task. Etsy is my go-to place for decorations, invitations, resume & blog templates, stationary, and more. These small business owners are so quick and ready to help.

By the way... I have another favorite Etsy site for invitations that I wanted to share with everyone... but I bought my best friends bachelorette weekend invites on her page and she reads my blog so I can't post about them yet! But check in April for a feature of her page!

1. Fancy Face Studio. You may remember my post about bar carts and tassel garland (if not check it out here). Tassel garland is a beautiful way to spice up any room, space, or party! The colors that Fancy Face has are beautiful. Plus, they have the cutest glassware, shirts, & packaging nik-naks. Y'all do not want to miss out on the cute things they offer!

2. Jubilee Design Studio. There is nothing more simple and classy than a handwritten note. They are not and will never be out of style and people appreciate them. The stationary at Jubilee Design Studio is to die for and I love the simplicity.

3. MotifPillows. If you read my post here, you will know that I'm in the process of decorating my new apartment that I will move into in August. Motifpillows will definitely be in my new space! The designer has tons of prints and shapes and I love the look!

4. Modern Muse Art. Abstract pieces of art are great for powder rooms, living rooms, and everything in between. The colors that are used in Modern Muse Art are what attracts me to their page! I obsess over all of her pieces and debate purchasing them daily.

5. I Design That. I write over 4 to-do list a day... minimum. And I love pretty paper to write them on! This shop has great, personalized paper for an affordable price!

Nightly Skincare Routine

When I was in high school, I never would wash my face or moisturize it before bed. Now, that just sounds disgusting to me. A good night's sleep cannot commence unless I have washed my face with my Clairsonic brush, applied eye cream, and moisturized. The three products I use are incredible and feel amazing, so I'm excited to share them with everyone today!

First, I use this cleansing face wash by La Roche-Posay. My mom introduced me to this and I have been in love ever since. It smells amazing and leaves my face with a gorgeous glow. I've bought it again and again and would recommend it to everyone. Whether you have dry, oily, or problematic skin, this wash will be great for you! I find mine at Ulta
Confession: I may or may not have stolen this from my moms bathroom. Oops... sorry mom. This Bobbi Brown eye repair cream is life changing. A little bit of this stuff goes a long ways... so I apply a teeny amount every night all around my eyes! Available at Neimans or Saks!

I bought this Neutrogena night time moisturizer on the clearance aisle at Target. I was looking for a certain type that they had sold out of and then ended up falling in love with this! I use it nightly, religiously. I bought this six months ago and I still have plenty left! It doesn't take much at all.

By the way...,
I hear you! I've been getting multiple request for a favorite makeup products post and it's coming! Check back here next Tuesday!

If you're anything like me, you are sick & tired of wearing jeans and sweaters by now. But, when it's so cold outside, the last thing you want to do is put on something that won't keep you warm!

I've come to adore sweater dresses. These babies give you warmth while still looking feminine & cute. During the fall when I'm tailgating at football games, I wear sweater dresses a lot. They look great on any body type!

Here are some other sweater dresses that I love!

Thursday Trends: Birchbox

Confession: I'm a product junky. I always love to find the next great hair product or makeup trend. Unfortunately, I usually never stick with using these products and I'm left with a half-full bottle of a product I do not even like to use. Cue in: Birchbox.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that sends you tester sizes of products of all beauty products ranging from hair products, to skincare, to nail polish. And starting up is so quick and easy! You answer a few questions about yourself, your preferences, and you skin and hair type and then they send you a specialized box of goodies for you each month! Every month, I look forward to digging into my Birchbox and seeing what products I get! Plus, every month you accumulate points and can apply them to purchase of the regular sized products on their website!

This month, I received Minu shampoo, Minu hair serum, Juicy Couture perfume, Eyeko liquid eye liner, Juice Beauty brightening cleanser, and CC cream! The box they ship in is so gorgeous and makes opening it up the highlight of your day! They also include a page stating what you got and how much the regular sized item cost on their website.

For only $10 a month, you are getting personalized beauty samples from top brands and collecting point to save money on the items that you can't live without! It's a win-win.

Visit their website and Instagram (@birchbox) today and get signed up for your monthly box!

Big Girl Apartment

1. Pillow (on sale): link | 2. Hand Towels: link | 3. Basket: link | 4. Tasseled Pillow: link | 5. Upholstered Headboard: link | 6. Bedding: link | 7. Mirror: link | 8. Auburn Print: link | 9. Pillow: link | 10. Pillow: link

In July, I will be moving into my first 'big girl' apartment. Since I graduate from Auburn in December (insert scared emoji here), I want to buy pieces that will carry me through the next few years of life. I have my eye on a few great investment pieces, plus just a few fun pieces. These are a few of my favorites. Follow links to order!

I love to shop for my apartment at West Elm, Pottery Barn, Easy, Anthropologie, Target, & Scotts Antique Market in Atlanta. Occasionally, I fall in love with things I see on Pinterest, but I end up not being able to find the items anywhere. Be patient and consistent when you're looking for something particular for your space. It takes time to grow your space into exactly what you want, so wanting to buy everything in one week is highly unrealistic. If I had a dollar for every time my mom has said this to me...

The Auburn map print by Evelyn Henson I already have but I'm looking forward to framing it with a distressed wood frame and hanging it in my bedroom! I'm wanting to buy the Atlanta map & the Paris map. I'm obsessed with her work!

I'm adding a few inspiration pictures from my Pinterest! Follow my board labeled "Apartment" for more pictures that I use for decorating my apartment!

*Pictures taken directly off Pinterest, I do not own or claim them. Links added where available*

Dreaming of Spring

Dress [on sale!] : Link | Booties: Link | Necklace: Link | Thermal: Link | Sunglasses: Link | Lip color: Link

Is there a better combination than Free People & Show Me Your Mumu? If I could wear these two brands for the rest of my life, I would. The comfort in Mumu is unreal... Plus, it's all wrinkle proof... convenient.  I've been known to shove a Mumu dress in my duffle bag for a weekend trip and pull it out & it looks like it was just steamed. I feel the most beautiful when I'm wearing this outfit. It is over-sized pieces, but still very femine because of the length of the Mumu and the cut of the Free People thermal.
I wear this Free People thermal everywhere. To class, to the gym, on a date night... you name it & this top will take you there! It's so easy to dress up, or down, and looks effortless! Mumu just released a bunch of new patterns and I already have my eyes on a bunch of pieces. With Mumu, many think that once you wear one of their pieces that you can't wear it again, but that is completely untrue. I pair my Mumu with cardigans, sweaters, or chambray shirts and it feels like an entirely new outfit!
I love statement necklaces & I always have the best luck at Sherrod Sisters Jewelry. Follow them on Instagram to see all of their latest pieces! @sherrodsistersjewelry

** This dress is currently ON SALE at Revolve! Mumu is rarely on sale... hurry over to their site today!

Can you say 'roots'? Better yet... Can you say 'I need a spray tan'?

Thursday Trends: Coffee Table Books

Disclaimer: I love anything with the word 'coffee' in it...

If you follow me on Instagram, it should come to you as no surprise that I love me some coffee table books. There is no easier way to make your home look effortlessly chic than the addition of coffee table books. At a young age, I began collecting books and have continued the tradition. My passion is beauty, style, & fitness, and there are so many gorgeous books retaining to these subjects that I have added to my room. My favorite coffee table books are Emily Schumans "Cupcakes & Cashmere" & "The French Cat" by Rachael Hale. Even though their main purpose is to sit on a table & look pretty, I have actually read each of my books more times than I would care to admit. Lauren Conrad's Beauty & Style books are everything. Through these two books, I have learned beauty and fashion tips that I will carry on throughout life. I recommend buying them first if you are starting a coffee table collection!
I've started a coffee table book board on Pinterest! Follow me!

What is your favorite coffee table book? Comment & let me know! I'd love to add it to my collection!

Valentine's Day Gifts for Her

Water Bottle: Link | Candle: Link | Perfume: Link | Bobbi Brown Buffing Grains: Link | Nail Polish: Link | Mug: Link | Fit Bit: Link

I'm over the traditional Valentine's Day gifts for girls... I mean flowers & chocolate are great... but, I think it's time we expand our horizons. Every year, thousands of men buy the overpriced flowers when there are tons of other amazing options for your woman! I've pictured + linked a few options for your lady that would put a huge smile on her face. Candles, beauty products, & perfumes are great alternatives and are priced pretty reasonable. Be unique and she will brag about you to all her girlfriends!

Still need a gift for your man? Check out some of my picks here! Whats your favorite Valentine's Day gift you've ever received? Comment & let me know!

Floral Bell Bottoms

So happy to be finally talking about my first fashion post on my blog!

And of course, I had to choose my new favorite outfit that I've just added to my closet! These are my first pairs of bell bottom pants and they are so flattering for short people like myself. These are by PPLA Clothing and I found them at Behind The Glass in Auburn, Alabama. This outfit will be so perfect during warm spring nights and I will pair it with this Show Me Your Mumu blouse, but during the winter, I pair them with this Free People cream sweater (no longer in stock). With this outfit, I wanted a long, statement necklace and I found one at Sherrod Sisters Jewelry. The smaller necklace is from Therapy Boutique in Auburn, Alabama.

When choosing clothes for myself, my main priority is comfort. They say 'beauty is pain', blah blah... I want to wear something that I'm comfortable in & that makes me feel great! These bell bottoms epitomize my style & if they made them in every color under the sun, I'd buy them all.

Whats your favorite winter staple item for your closet? Comment & let me know!

Thursday Trends: The Day Designer

A few weeks ago, Pinterest caused me to stumble upon the Day Designer website and I immediately fell in love. The Day Designer is a planner that is unlike anything you have ever seen before and is perfect for women who have a lot on their plate! Day Designers were created by Whitney English for busy mom's, creative professionals, and girls-on-the-go. The layout on these planners is what makes it so special. Each day has it's own page, except for Saturday & Sunday, who share a page. There is a space on each page for your daily top three, schedule, daily to-do's, whats due, whats for dinner, and more! As a new blogger, I have found that this planner works far better than any one I have used in the past. The streamline feel and organizational blocks make this planner my Thursday Trend for this week.

So, there's good and bad news... which do you want first? Bad news: Since these planners are SO amazing, they are completely sold out. Good news: They are coming out with a new planner in May, as well as an August Student Edition! But, you can download one of their free day pages and try it out today, here

Follow them on Instagram for updates at @thedaydesigner

Valentine's Day Gifts for Him

We are rapidly approaching the fourteenth day of February, and if you are anything like me, you have no idea what to get your man! For whatever reason, Valentine's Day has shifted to a holiday that revolves around women... but men still need some love, too! I put together a few things that I know your Valentine would love, as if being his Valentine isn't already enough gift in it's own!

1. Southern Tide Fortune Hills Plaid Sport Shirt. These Southern Tide shirts look great on anyone! They are lightweight and come in an array of colors. I have gotten my Valentine a Southern Tide shirt the past four years and he wears them all the time. This coral color is gorgeous, too!

2. Yeti Coolers. Guys. Love. These. Coolers. They are so heavily insulated that they keep ice frozen for days upon days. And... they are 'bear proof'... which is definitely a selling feature for me.

3. Dop Kits by LifetimeLeatherCo. I found these dopp bags a while back on my Pinterest and I have always thought about getting them as gifts for guys. Dopp bags are things that guys need but don't want to admit that they need. So, it's best to surprise them with one!

4. Whiskey Rocks. I think that this is the coolest gift for guys! You put these whiskey rocks in the freezer and then replace them with the ice in your drink so that it doesn't get watered down. They sell these at Crate & Barrell and J.Crew. Make your Valentine the envy of all his friends!

February Favorites

1. Bobbi Brown "Monday to Sunday" Creamy Lip Color. No matter which color you choose, I promise you'll be happy with this lipstick! I have it in several shades and it is perfect for day or night wear. I am a huge advocate for Bobbi Brown makeup and her lipstick is no exception. It last all day or night and it looks incredible in pictures, too!

2. This is the primrose pink lumbar pillow by Furbish Studio and I could not love it more! The bright color and texture is perfect for a accent pillow on a couch or bed. Furbish Studio has tons of gorgeous pillows and home accessories on their page!

3. Glam Boxes. Okay, I'll admit.. I don't have a Glam Box just yet, but these beauties are definitely my next purchase! I have been obsessed with the look of these boxes for an entire year now... I love the way they look in your powder room. They come in two sizes and have options for full lids or partial lids. They also have storage for jewelry and accessories!

4. Mermaid Hair Shampoo & Conditioner. After reading review after review for this shampoo & conditioner, I finally invested in it and it definitely lives up to the hype! The bottles are so gorgeous and it smells amazing! I have extremely fine, flat hair and this gives me pretty good volume. Plus... it just looks pretty sitting in my shower. Which counts for something... right? :)

5. Lafco House + Home Candles. Y'all... these are the only candles I can imagine paying $60 for. They are incredible and look great sitting in any room in your home! I received the "Beach House" scent for Christmas & it makes my entire room smell like heaven. Powder Room, Ski House, Penthouse, & Kitchen all smell amazing, too!

6. I saved the best for last... Day Designers. These are the most chic, resourceful planners I have ever laid eyes on. I'm so picky about my planners because too much writing stresses me out. I have tried everything and finally found these! They are beautiful but sell like hot cakes. Their store and all of their retailer stores have been sold out for weeks! I bought mine off of eBay, paid more than I should have (Shh.. don't tell my Dad)... but it was completely worth it! I'll be posting more about Day Designers on Thursday so check it out!
